The Aowel AW721 non-programmable heat pump thermostat is designed for homes with up to 2 heating and 1 cooling systems. It is compatible with Heat Pump systems, including those with auxiliary or emergency heat, as well as Heat Pump systems without auxiliary/backup heat, catering to 2 Heat/1 Cool configurations. When setting up the Menu, initialize the Heat Pump System for optimal operation.

In addition, this thermostat is also compatible with most 24V conventional single-stage systems, such as conventional force air, central gas, oil, and electric furnaces single-stage systems, again supporting up to 2 Heat/1 Cool configurations. Note that you will need to enter the menu and set it to the conventional system for proper functionality.

However, it is important to note that the AW721 is not compatible with conventional multistage systems, mini split systems, 12v rv thermostats, or 110-240V electric heat systems like electric baseboard heat, line voltage, convectors, and radiant-ceiling heat.

Featuring a 5.0 sq inch display with white backlight, this thermostat provides easy visibility and readability for users of all ages. It displays indoor temperature and humidity, allowing for comprehensive climate control. The thermostat offers separate heating and cooling swing options with a default setting of 0.5F (0.2°F to 2°F) and a 3-minute compressor delay protection that can be toggled on or off, as well as a Low Battery replacement reminder.

Supported by dual power sources of 24VAC Power or 2 AAA Batteries, the AW721 does not require a common wire (c-wire) on most systems, only necessitating it on heat only and cool only systems. It also ensures accurate temperature control with a range from 44°F to 90°F and a room temperature display range from 32°F to 99°F. Additionally, it supports error correction for ambient temperature display.
